Sew, Mama, Sew Giveaway Day

Welcome to the blog of Trish Preston of Two Peas in a Pod Homegrown Designs. Today is the beginning of the Sew, Mama, Sew Giveaway Day which begins on May 17th and runs through May 20th.  Hundreds of bloggers join in and give away all kinds of handmade items, supplies…and it’s a really fun time to find new blogs.

SO, welcome to all of you for which THIS is your first visit here.

I know you all like to jump in and jump out of blogs so you can enter as many giveaways as you like so I’ll be short and sweet.  If you’d like to learn more about me and my work you can read that here.  I have a listing of my tutorials down the right hand side…over there, see them?  Useful stuff for later.  And I’ve been blessed enough to have 4 of my latest projects published by Sew Hip magazine…Issues 14-17.  I love hearing your feedback on my patterns you’ve tried.

Which brings me to…my giveaway.

Up for grabs…something handmade and something for YOU to make.

A lovely little owl bag...like this, but not this exact one! I'll make one just for one lucky winner

For YOU to make...hot off the press, my newest pattern, The Patsy Ann Apron top (headed to the printers this week!)

AND also a copy of my Hazel Hipster pattern

An owl bag and two of my sewing patterns.  Sound good to you?

Open to our international friends as well (NOTE: INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS – THERE WILL BE A $5.00 / US SHIPPING CHARGE – helps a little since international shipping is expensive).

TO ENTER :  Leave me a quick comment answering, What is your favorite quick simple and kid pleasing dinner recipe – You can leave just the name…and if you feel so inclined, leave me a link to the recipe.  I could really use some new ideas so I don’t have to hear, “tortilla soup, again?”

Happy Sew, Mama, Sew Giveaway Day!

xoxo,

Trish

  1. my kiddos fav is the homemade whole wheat pizza thin crust..http://www.ourbestbites.com/2008/08/asian-bbq-chicken-pizza.html..they have gud recipe

  2. […] Lucky number 307…Krista – Poppyprint, on May 19, 2010 at 10:08 pm […]

  3. My boys love salad and tortilla wraps with crumbed chicken.

the salsa salad is just corn, tomatoes, avacado, cucmber and shredded cheese mixed and a salad dressing – 2tbs of balsamic vinegar,2 tbs of brown sugar,2 tbs of olive il and 1tbs of lemon juice (fresh is best) shaken well.
the crumbed chicken I usually cheat and use the crispy chicken mix from old elpaso tortilla wraps – saves doing the whole egg wash thing just cut the chicken into bite sized portions and the kids think it;s popcorn chicken lol

the owl bag is totally precious and loving the bright colours 🙂 Melxx

  4. Chicken breasts pounded to even thickness, dipped in beaten egg with a little lemon juice added, drained and dipped in bread crumbs seasoned with Greek Seasoning. Fry in a little melted butter (a couple tablespoons) or melt the butter in a baking pan and bake in the oven at 350 or so for 20-25 min.
Will be back to read more of your blog.

  5. I love loosemeat hanburgers topped with a mushroom soup sauce for an easy meal 🙂 Recipe is on my blog.

  6. Since my family is Chinese, I loved eating homemade dumplings when I was a kid and I still do! They’re easy to make and so yummy!

  7. Noodles with homemade alfredo sauce–heavy whipping cream, butter, parmesan cheese, salt/pepper, and garlic. Saute some veggies to throw into it–so delicious!! And so quick!!

  8. Don’t have kids of my own, but my my mom worked when I was younger. Burgers on the grill were the best, especially with baked potato wedges. Yum. Oh, and there’s no beating the blue box mac and cheese for me.

  9. Here is the recipe for chicken casserole that kids will love
    http://www.easy-kids-recipes.com/chicken-casserole-recipes.html
thanks for the chance to win

  10. Deep dish pizza casserole. Couldn’t be easier, couldn’t be more tasty!

    LOVE THE OWL!

  11. What wonderful giveaways. I woud love to win those things.

My kids have been out of the house for a number of years now but this was one of their favorite meals. I also gave this recipe to a friend in PA and her kids begged her to make it about 3 times a week too. I have been making this since 1995 but I found the exact recipe online for you so I didn’t have to post the one I used here. I cannot recall where I originally got it but it’s an awesome recipe. Thankfully you asked for something kids would like not healthy. LOL This is not overly healthy but sooooooooo yummy.

CREAMY BOW TIES WITH SAUSAGE & TOMATOES

  12. Love the bag.

    ladubois@comcast.net

  13. Well, I don’t have any kids, but our version of taco salad is pretty good and healthy too: lettuce, taco chips, veggies, salsa and sour cream, in that order. Not gourmet but fast and filled with veggies.
btw, love the Jane-Austen-ish apron top. So cute!

  14. Great giveaway! I love the bag! I’m still trying to figure out the “kid-pleasing” part… I have a super picky 2-year-old. 😦 The only thing he will eat with certainty is chicken fingers, which we rarely have. I’m going to have a peek thru the comments here!

  15. Love the bag, thanks for a chance to win!

My kids love any sort of pasta, but the one we have used lately is Garbage casserole from Southern Plate!

  16. I’m just in love with owls! Grilled cheese is always a hit

  17. This is so bad for you, but delicious. Chili cheese fries. We use frozen fries, a can of chili beans which is pinto beans with sauce, (heat them up in a pot. Thicken with cornstarch. Mix in whatever veggies you think you can hide from the kids.) And my husband buys already shredded cheese, so it’s pretty much a heat and plate kind of dinner. Good for busy nights or when the kid is being extra picky. Thank you for the chance to win an awesome prize!

  18. This is a great giveaway. If I don’t win, I’ll have to come back for the darling dress pattern. Easy kids’ meal? I’ve got college-age people here. However, the comment I see above me at the moment suggests mac and cheese. Absolutely! Homemade Alton Brown style along with grilled chicken and salad.

  19. Gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing. You’ve got a lot of great dinner ideas. One of our favorites is chicken pesto soup – a basic chicken soup with onions, carrots, corn, some tiny pasta, and then stir in pesto to taste . My daughter and a friend’s son both love it.

  20. Those bags are fantastic! I love German Pancakes for any meal. (the big fluffy egg things)

  21. Love your items! My favorite (and more importantly my kids) is homemade mac and cheese!

    http://jeremynjenprice.blogspot.com/2009/06/macaroni-and-cheese.html

  22. My little one isn’t quite big enough to have sway in my meal planning, but hubby and I are both picky enough that we often gravitate toward “kid friendly” meals anyway. I’ve been a big fan of the cookbook Six O’Clock Scramble – it’s fast meals that [usually] please us both. We really like the smoked sausage, tomato, and peppers with penne (the actual name is *something* like that).

  23. Oh my goodness, the owl bag just makes me swoon! So kid pleasing quick dinner…I pull out a pesto from the freezer (I make a bunch during the summer and freeze it for later), boil water for spaghetti, and brown the sausages I usually have on hand. The longest part is cooking the noodles, everything else is done by the time they’re done.
    scarletteandcinnamon(at)gmail(dot)com

  24. My kid’s favorite meal is chicken and noodles. Which really consists with noodles made any way, either with sauce, butter and parmesan cheese or noodle roni and chicken. Chicken can be mixed in with the noodles or on the side. Also I always throw in some sort of vegetable.

  25. Grilled sandwhichs made with thick cut bread and whatever leftovers we have. Goes down a treat 🙂

  26. The owl bag is darling!
Favorite kid friendly meal, grilled cheese and tomato soup, one of my nephews favorites 🙂

  27. Wonderful giveaway! Definitely grilled peanut butter & jelly. It’s super easy and is much more special that regular pb&j. I personally like mine with peanut butter & bananas 🙂

  28. Oh my — I have been looking for something the exact shape of your hipster bag! I thought I had done every google search possible for a bag shaped like that — it is such a hard shape to find!

And kid pleasing recipe? Well, my child that eats likes a great chicken taco recipe a friend wrote and many of us love. In a crockpot (see? really easy!) put 6 frozen chicken strips, 1 chicken taco seasoning packet, a fresh container of mild pico from the grocery store, 1/4 cup oil and 1/4 cup water. Cook 4-6 hours on low until chicken shreds. Shred it up and let cook for 30 more minutes. Put it on tortillas with cheese and guacamole and YUM. (Yes, my 4-year-old loves guacamole).

  29. Your patterns are fantastic! I’m so glad I discovered them. My favorite kid dinner (which I eat myself all the time) is fancy grilled cheese with cheese, ham and sliced apples. Delish!! thanks for the giveaway. leahclaireh(at)gmail(dot)com

  30. Your photography is lovely by the way 🙂

Easy kid-pleasing recipe: home made baked beef-a-roni. Every month or so I make a giant pot of tomato sauce (making sure to hide LOTS of vegetables in there) and then freeze it in dinner sized portions. A quick thaw in the microwave, mix it with cooked elbow noodles, grate some cheese overtop, bake it in the oven just long enough to be warm and for the cheese to melt and poof, done. Kids love it and it’s so much more nutritous than that stuff in the can…

  31. our favourite is tacos! the thing with this quick meal is I can add whatever salad I can hide in it, it can be chicken, beef, or even beans, but best of all , my 5 yr old almost makes it herself 🙂
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the giveaway

  32. Thank you so much for such a great giveaway! I LOVE the bag and your patterns are always wonderful! I am going to keep fingers crossed…. best recipie for quick prep is a seseme noodles… on broccoli, onions, noodles and sauce and very healthy and good!

  33. My easiest family please is spag bol!
    Thanks for a great giveaway!

  34. we made something new just last night and the kids loved it (and it was simple). We made mini pizzas with english muffins (cut in half) sauce, cheese and mini pepperoni. The kids made their own with creative designes and gobbled them up!

  35. My mother makes taco pie to spice up our dinner routine. It’s ground beef -or other ground meat- mixed with taco seasoning and then layered like a lasagna with cheddar cheese, sour cream, and pillsbury cresent rolls(only for top layer). I hope that’s helpful 🙂

    dcdyess289@yahoo.com

  36. saradfarris(at)hotmail(dot)com

It’s just a side but we love sweet potato fries here.

  37. Your patterns are beautiful! I love the cover designs, and the owl bag is precious. Please count me in! Our dinner quickie is refried bean quesadillas with some red peppers and texmex cheese thrown in.

Stop by and enter my giveaway, too!

  38. omg, this is SUCH a generous giveaway, thank you soo much!! i just love that owl and those patterns!! as for kid pleasing recipe, make some cake pops, here’s a link to my blog post on it – http://www.sandyalamode.com/2010/02/15/cake-popalicious/

  39. My fave kid-friendly recipe is crunchy cheddar ranch chicken (from the Hidden Valley website). Dip chicken breasts in ranch dressing (from the bottle, not the mix), then in a mixture of bread crumbs, salt & pepper, sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and bake in the oven (375-ish for 25-ish minutes). So yummy (although not low-fat)!

    Thanks for the fantastic giveaway!

  40. This is a great giveaway. I love making Quesadillas for the kids. They are quick and easy. Thanks for the chance to win.

  41. Believe it or not, but the kids love Chef’s Salad here. I usually lay thiers out separated, so they can dip in ranch. Broccoli, tomato, cucumbers, avacado, ham, cheese, egg……..yum – I’m getting hungry!

    krispiks (at) aol (dot) com

  42. My daughter is only 14 mo old, so we haven’t explored as many meals as you might have yet, but we love breakfast for dinner at our house. She particularly loved these pancakes: http://www.nurturebaby.com/index.php?mact=Products,cntnt01,details,0&cntnt01productid=44&cntnt01returnid=15

  43. So far the favorite thing to make for my son is Mac and Cheese from the cookbook Deceptively Delicious. It has pureed white beans in it and is all from what I would consider REAL ingredients. I think it is pretty easy if you don’t want a box mix and you want some extra low fat protein mixed in. I even liked the taste and I grew up on Kraft Mac and Cheese. Anyways. I would be happy to type out the recipe if you are interested. Let me know. Thanks for the chance to win the bag and patterns. stephspitzer at gmail dot com

  44. This is my secret recipie (so says my kids)

    1 lb of pasta
    Ham Steak
    bag of frozen peas
    small container of Marscapone Cheese
    3 TBL of sour cream
    salt and pepper to taste.

I use the multi colored twist pasta
while is boiling, I cube a ham steak
The last 3 minutes of cook time, throw in a bag of frozen peas, and the ham.
Drain the pasta, peas and ham
    Return to the pot
add 3 heaping TBL of Sour Cream and a small container of Marscapone cheese.
    Mix well and enjoy.

  45. Looks to me like you have a year’s worth of dinner ideas here, but I’ll give you mine as well.

It’s a twist on the plain grilled cheese sandwich. I use wheat bread, cheddar cheese, apple slices, and bacon. Serve it with gold fish crackers and milk and you have a quick and pleasing dinner!

Mac and cheese was always a favorite of my son, or chili dogs.

  48. I love owls and that bag is just so cute! My favorite easy kid friendly recipe is Tator tot casserole. Cream of mushroom soup, green beans, beef, corn, tater tots, salt, pepper, and onion seasoning. I don’t have an actual recipe for it though.
    bcgood83@yahoo.com

  49. mmm… tortilla soup sounds good 🙂
    I’d love that recipe.
I make homemade macn’cheese with carmelized onions and ham chunks–but my kids fave is elbow macaroni with salt, pepper to taste and a can of diced tomatoes. and then load on the grated cheddar cheese!
great giveaway! thanks for the chance to win!
    crossing my fingers!

  50. I don’t know about kids – but sometimes I eat guacamole & veggies for dinner. I’m sure that’s not something good moms feed their children. I guess that’s why I don’t have any!

    Greetings from Munich,

  56. Love these giveaways. Your patterns are darling. My kids are grown, so they love any free meal at mom and dad’s. How times change. Grilled chicken with rice and salsa was always a hit . Thanks.

  57. Love the owl bag!! Have collected owls off and on since in high school in the early 70s…it was our school mascot and now they are back “in style” !
We eat a lot of chicken and the kids are grown but they called this Mom’s Chicken and was a favorite when they were learning to cook:
Frozen Chicken Breasts….still frozen…place in foil lined pan. Top each with a generous tablespoon of Miracle Whip or mayonnaise; when finished spooning dressing from the jar, spread around to cover the top of each with the back of the spoon, shake on some dry Pepp. Farm stuffing mix that you have crushed while still in the bag with your hands (or your little helpers’ hands), sprinkle on some grated Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 for around an hour.

  58. This is a great giveaway! I struggle hard with kid friendly meals. One thing my daughter likes is a crockpot chicken dish. You put cream of chicken soup and diced raw chicken in the crockpot along with good seasons italian dressing mix. Cook for about 4 or 5 hours on low. The last hour mix in cream cheese and serve over rice.
    hutchyhutch87(at)yahoo(dot)com

  59. Kraft mac and cheese microwave version. My grandniece loves this stuff, especially when she gets to stir in the cheese and help make it. Sometimes we add a little pre-cooked browned ground beef. An owl bag and two of your patterns sounds good to me too. Thank you for this giveaway. mlwright29 (at) hotmail (dot) com

  60. Unfortunately, I have two very picky eaters myself. At least Shepherd’s Pie works for them. I’ll have to read through your other comments and see what suggestions you get so I can try some on my own kiddos.

  61. the thing i’ve found that makes meals attractive to everyone is when the sides are stuff they can handle – some steamed veggies (with a little butter & salt, of course), fresh fruits, and some kind of bread – they’ll try the main dish (even if it’s unfamiliar) and there will be enough of the known sides that they’ll get enough to eat. 🙂

    great giveaway!!!

  62. I don’t have kids, but I’ll share an idea I saw on the front of a kid’s cookbook. Prepare macaroni and cheese, and hot dogs. Take the hotdogs and split them up one side into 8 pieces, leaving half the hotdog unsliced. Put on top of M&C, and viola! An octopus!

  63. My daughter asked me to enter some of these giveaways for her since her computer is not working… she said I could even win something for my wife in some of the contest
I hope I am doing the entering the right way. Tom in Florida
    tcsean(at)aol(dot)com

  64. I don’t have kids. But my favorites when I was little were grilled peanut butter and jelly (prepared the same as grilled cheese but different filling) and apple nachos (thinly slice apples and sprinkle with shredded cheese pop in the microwave for about a minute to melt cheese).

  65. i would love to win this giveaway. and i’ll be coming back again for sure.
i don’t have children yet, but at home we like to eat fast and easy meals because sometimes there’s not enough time or patiente for more. i like to eat something that is lettece, apple and chicken salad. it combines wonderfully together!

  66. my daughter kills quiche. she always asks for more more more!
    thanks for the giveaway!

  67. Pigs in a blanket…tofu wrappedin a crescent roll never tasted so good! I’m crossing my fingers to win this giveaway – the owl bag is right up my alley!

  88. While I don’t typically cook for kids since I don’t have any of my own, my husband basically eats like a kid so I usually have to resort to kid-friendly recipes. One of my favorites are black bean burgers. Basically just canned black beans mashed up with some garlic, spices, and shredded cheese so they can be shaped into patties.

Amazing give-away by the way. Thank you!

  92. Oddly enough I’ve not been popping in and out of blogs to enter… I keep getting drug into the depths of different blogs only to resurface 20 or 30 minutes later!!

I am loving your blog!! Oh such sewing fun (this coming from someone whose sewing machine has only made the likes of curtains and pillows for the past few years… no m o r e pillows… teen boys who love pillows reside at my house…)

Quick dinner fix… chocolate chip pancakes w/ finely grated zucchini (kept hidden in the freezer) added in plus bacon or sausage patties (made ahead to be stored in freezer) and frozen fruit. Can you tell I have teenagers in my house and have to come rely upon my freezer? 111. Hey, Trish,
Thanks for your comment on my blog! I haven’t read “No Impact Man” the book, but his blog was one of the first I read daily, back when he was in the middle of his year’s experiment. It certainly inspired me!

  116. Here in New Orleans, we make a lot of red beans and rice. It’s super simple — really just slow-cooked red beans poured on rice. I add sausage or chicken if we have it. My 18 month old eats it up!

Thanks for the chance to enter! I’ll have to go through and read all of the dinner ideas people left so I don’t hear “Red beans and rice AGAIN?”

  127. Awesome giveaway!
My favorite quick recipe is Italian chick. So easy! I just throw some chicken breasts in a pan and a bottle of italian dressing. Bake at 350 until cooked all the way through. Usually about 20 min. I serve over rice but you could probably do pasta also.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  128. Now YOU are a smart one – here is a comment response I am going to be going through to get menu ideas for my own little ones!! The novelty comes in the dips – BBQ sauce, ranch, applesauce, peanut sauce, etc…finger licking fun!

  129. What a great giveaway! Thanks for the chance to win 🙂 As for quick kid dinners, my daughter’s only 2, but my Mexcian casserole is always a big hit with her. I chop up some chicken and cook it first. Then add that, along with Spanish/Mexican rice (I use a mix to make it) and a bag of Mexican style vegis (it usually has corn, black beans, etc.) and throw it in the oven for about 30 to 45 minutes or so and away you go.

  130. My favorite quick simple and kid pleasing dinner recipe is bagle pizza. It’s fast and fun,

  131. My kids love pastina – tiny star-shaped pasta – or alphabet pasta. Cook per pkg directions, drain and return to pan, stir in a couple of eggs (the heat from the pasta will cook them), some butter and parmesan cheese. That’s it!

  133. Mix it all up in a baking pan and bake until cooked through. oh yeah, top with sprinkled parmesan. Simpler than an actual lasagna and kids love it.

  159. I LOVE that Owl Bag. It is adorable!

My favorite thing are home made cornflake chicken fingers. I buy the pre-cut chicken tenders and then I dip them in buttermilk. Then I get a bunch of cornflakes and one packet of dry ranch dressing powder and put it in a zip lock and mash it up. Then I take the chicken out of the buttermilk and put it in the bag of cornflakes and shake them around until they’re coated (or you can get the kids involved in the shaking, my son loves this part!) Then I just bake them on 400 until they’re nice and brown (I think about 20 to 25 min). I’m sorry if that’s not clear, you can email me if you have any questions!

  160. The owl bag is so cute! My kids love to eat just about any meal that I let them help with. My son is a picky eater so that helps a lot. We are part of a farm co-op so our menu is always changing. Thanks for the giveaway!

  163. Thanks for the chance to win! My kids favorite thing is chili and rice. I make a pot of chili in the crockpot (ground beef, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, black beans, corn, chili powder, onions). Then serve it over rice with sour cream and cheddar cheese. It’s a favorite!!

Easy kid dinner (my big kids- college/grad school) still love it – large drained can of black beans, add to sauted onion and garlic, add Tbs. lime juice and some chili powder and/or cumin to taste. Cook about 5 min. put on flour tortillas with some shredded cheese , sliced avacado or other veggies they like. yum!

I cut up 4 chicken breasts into bite size pieces, put them in a cassarole dish with 2 cans of a cream-condensed soup(whatever one i have, chicken, celery, doesn’t matter…) I add 1 cup of whatever cheese I have on hand, and pour 1 cup of milk on top of it all. I then crumble cooked bacon on top, cover and bake it at 350 degrees for an hour. I serve it over macaroni noodles or rice. I have added different veggies that I’ve had left over too. Portabello’s go great in this dish if you are a mushroom fan.

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  187. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with tortilla soup, again! 😉

Honestly, if I want something quick, I don’t cook. I chop up fruit and cheese, add some almond or peanut butter if they’re having apple, some carrot sticks, olives, hardboiled eggs if you have ’em on hand, toast, maybe, or popcorn. Finger foods! I know that I could live off fruit and cheese, and my little ones don’t seem to mind!

  188. Uncooked chocolate cake mixture is the most effective kid-pleaser I know. Keeps the husband happy too 😉
I love that bag pattern- Thanks for the giveaway! amo(at)zoic(dot)org

Clandestine vegetable consumption…he he he. Also, miso soup is a quickie favourite around here. Or i go spanish style and serve platters of different cheese, olives, sliced cucumber, free range ham, fresh bread and hummus and we make ‘towers’ and different food combinations. whatever works i say!

  204. My kids always loved fried rice or yakisoba when they were little. Great giveaway! Thanks for a chance to win!

  205. My daughter loves quesadillas

  206. Hahahaha. Your kids get to say “Tortilla soup AGAIN?” I’m coming over to your house for dinner.

My kids like when I take some pizza dough and let them stretch it out and make calzones with it. They get to fill it with whatever their hearts desire, and I don’t have to make dinner. I just have to clean up the tornado that blew through the kitchen afterwards.

My kids also like anything in those tiny little silicone baking pans you get at the dollar store. Plop some leftovers in, put a little premade pie crust on top and it’s dinner! We’re all about individual servings around here. Somehow it makes it more fun.

  207. Great Items! My sons fav was always spaghetti

    Thank you!

  208. I love the owl bag, just to cute!!

    christiharrison@gmail.com

  219. Ooops, forgot my best kid meal. I’m not a mom but I have nieces and the best thing I make with them or for them is chocolate chip cookies. Probably not what you were looking for in a dinner recipe!

  220. I took a look at your etsy site – your patterns are cute – love the owls!

  221. My fav is a pasta dish that I made up on my own. I cook a lb of rice pasta (we eat gluten free in this household). In the mean while, depending on what I have on hand – I brown up sausages without casing along with onions and broccoli, after pasta is al dente, dump out most of water and put the pasta and a little bit of pasta water into the mixture, then add cheese!!! I add whatever cheese I have on hand. And then I either eat it straight like that, or put it in a casserole dish and put more cheese on top an leave in a 350 degree oven for 15 min. It’s all very flexible – like tonight, we use bacon, onions, garlic, chopped carrots and spinach instead of broccoli and sausage! Just whatever you have that goes well together! It’s cheesy and it’s got some veggies! and best of all – it’s fast!!!!

  222. Our family favourite is Chicken soup… easy peasy and great for the sniffles!! No really it is… check it out here http://moobeardesigns.blogspot.com/2010/04/recipe-tag-chicken-soup.html

  228. My son loved having breakfast for dinner. His favorite was waffles, no fancy folded in egg whites, just the regular pancake recipe with a little oil added.

  230. Tator Tot casserole all the way! =) Thanks for a great giveaway!

  231. Arghhh..I’m so bad at making things my kids like. My husband’s Korean, I’m vegan, and the kids are picky. Best dinners lately have been make-your-own tacos. Sad, but true.

  232. The bag is too CUTE!!! The patterns are sweet!

We love quesadilas because they are so quick and so good!!!

  233. The patterns are awesome and the bag is so cute!

I like toasted cheese sandwiches with a variety of cheeses and meats (tuna, sliced turkey, etc.) to mix and match–might even sneak some veggies in there!

  234. I was nauseous with both kids during pregnancy and the only thing I was able to squeeze down without to much effort was sushi.

And hence, the kids looooves sushi. Go figure!

  235. Those are so cool!
I make a ton of butter chicken (I like the Pioneer Woman’s recipe), or just throw chicken in a crock pot with BBQ sauce. Then we shred it for sammies…

  236. Our quick meals include vegetable fried rice or breakfast tacos- basically cheese, scrambled eggs, salsa and maybe beans or fried potatoes wrapped in a soft tortilla.

  237. My kids are pretty picky, but love pasta (as in, plain pasta). I give them their meat/veggies separately and let them go to town on pasta!

  238. I like making what I call “pizza casserole”. Cook a pound (or less) of hamburger meat, when done dump in a 26 or whatever oz. jar of spaghetti sauce, a 10 oz. jar of pizza sauce, and then cut up some pepperoni. Or, if you’re feeding my husband, a LOT of pepperoni. Cook a box of noodles (usually rotini) and then after draining mix it with the meat/sauce stuff. Dump half into a 9×13, cover with some mozzarella cheese, dump the other half in and cover it as well. Bake at 350 until the cheese on top is melted. Mmmm. As a bonus, since we’re just a family of three, I now have lunches for me and the small human for a few more days!

  239. Poor man salad, bow tie pasta, cucumber ranch, shrimp, crab meat, red bell pepper, black pepper, green onions all tossed together with a side diner salad and crusty french bread or garlic toast.

Mix 1 tbls soy sauce and 1 tbls cornstarch until smooth.

In a small sauce pan bring 1 can coconut milk, 1/3c broth (can use water in a pinch) 2tea red curry paste 1/2 tea dried basil and 1/2 tea onion powder to a simmer.

Add cornstarch mixture, stir until thinkened (1-2 min).

I serve it over everything, rice, vegis, chicken etc!

  242. Germany pancakes for sure!! Can be eaten either sweet with cinnamon sugar, jam, nutella, … or salty filled with any type of sauce or vegetable …

    400g all purpose flour
    750ml milk
    4 eggs
    salt

Stir all together, grease and heat a pan, put some dough in it and bake golden from both sides.
Topp with whatever you like …

(German pancakes are sort of like French crepes, except they are a little bit thicker, not sweetened and made in a normal pan)

I’m sorry for not converting the measurements into ounces and hope it’s understandable what I wrote …
I’m really tired so that’s the best what I can do at the moment …

  243. i make pastina casserole, it’s one of giada’s recipes and it freezes very well!

  244. First…..The Hazel Hipster is adorable. I have to have a hands free purse. It began when my daughter was born, and has been my preference ever since.

She’s 9 now and currently her favorite fast dinner is what she calls Chard Noodles. It’s simply, penne pasta and chopped swiss chard-boiled together, drained, tossed with olive oil, garlic and lots of parmesan cheese. Pretty easy!

  245. I love making baked mac and cheese for my kids. They love it, it is easy and fairly good for them!! Thanks for the chance!!!

  246. I used to serve “toothpick dinners” and you can use short soda straws if you do not have toothpicks. I cut up cubes of cheese, leftover chicken, and made a cottage cheese dip for carrot slices, broccoli florets. Add grapes and apples and you have a whole non cooked meal.

  247. Rice and beans with cheddar cheese. My toddler doesn’t love pasta or meat, but she will almost always eat rice and beans.

  248. It has been a long time since I had a kid to please……..but mac and cheese in the blue box was always a favorite. Now she is across the country and my husband does not like any kind of mac and cheese…….

  249. my daughter loves spicy food, and so do i. we eat a lot of burritos with fajita vegetables, vegetarian meat crumbles, and beans. we do chili, and we get the curry sauces at trader joe’s and make curries. tj’s also has pizza dough that you just roll out and add sauce & cheese & toppings to and that is AMAZING.

thanks for the chance to win. this is an awesome giveaway.

  250. tacos are my favorite kid pleasing recipe. I’ve also had lots of success with white chicken chili, macaroni and cheese, and grilled cheese and tomato soup.

    shannon.mangerchine(at)gmail(dot)com

  251. LOVE that owl bag!! And your patterns are A*DORABLE! I love breakfast for dinner:) I want to try Popovers – have heard they are delish but have yet to try them. We are having ribs tonight – my kid love those!

  252. Spaghetti is the best in my house. If I feel my little girl has been too picky the past few days and she needs to eat something then spaghetti is on the dinner menu. I really think it would be fun to make bagel pizza’s though. We just get pizza sauce, cheese and any toppings the kids like. (usually pepperoni) Then you just put it in the oven until the cheese is melted and they love it because they can make their own and its cheap!

  253. My kids (and I) love corn chowder – healthy, quick and delicious!

  254. I am a mother of one 2 yr old little girl and would love to sew your new patterns for her to wear!! She is the only princess I have and am really enjoying your patterns!!

Quick easy recipe for my kids is the family size burrito recipe from Pampered chef! I use already cooked chicken strips to make it go by faster!! http://www.chefsuccess.com/archive/index.php/t-5263.html

  255. oh my gosh – tortilla soup would be wonderful but, I ever hear is TACOS –

  256. What’s wrong w/ tortilla soup?! I love that stuff… But anyway, we like baked ziti. I usually make my own sauce with roasted tomatoes, but if you used a jar, it’d only take 10 minutes to make. Cook and drain pasta, mix with sauce and plenty of mozz cheese, pour into a baking dish and sprinkle more cheese on top, bake 25 min or so. Easy and so good!

  257. What a great giveaway, kid pleasing can’t go wrong with mac n cheese.

  258. Oh, I love those bags! I need a good bag tutorial! And a new bag at that… and a good girls pattern for making gifts (I have 2 toddler boys…)

The tried and true recipe in my house is fried tofu with stir fry and rice. And sweet and sour dip. I also like baked tofu, but not every kid would be ok with this one. I also love chili one day, then use the leftovers the next day to make enchiladas. and I like the Market Pantry enchilada sauce from target. I also prefer the Romeros flour tortillas from Target – so it’s a pretty easy and yummy combo of foods available at target. I spend alot of time at Target.

    fruitandfoliage@gmail.com

  259. LOL, I hear Tacos, again? Alot! Homemade pizza is a favorite, and a great way to get in veggies, and cook seasonally. Mine love salads.
I love the owl bag!! So cute!

  260. Def homemade mac and cheese! I use cafeteria mac and cheese recipe from allrecipes.com.

  261. Puffed pancakes. So easy and quick! 3 eggs, 3/4 c. flour and 3/4 c. milk mixed together. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Put 2 tbsp. butter in cast iron pan, put in oven to melt. Swirl melted butter to coat then put in batter. Cook 20 min! Can also be done in glass 9×13 pan, with recipe doubled.

  262. Sounds fabulous to me!

My kids gobble up Chicken Ranch Cheesesteak. Three ingredients. Chopped up sauteed chicken breast, ranch dressing, and American cheese. Kinda skeeved me out at first but it’s actually greater than the sum of it’s parts.

  263. my favourite quick meal is nachos — pile them high with veggies and chicken, and some salsa and cheese. stick them in the oven and voila – an audience pleaser for sure!

  264. tortilla soup really? we’ve never had that one! grilled cheese and tomato soup are a favorite at my house.
    phillandlesley(at)msn(dot)com

  265. my girls absolute favorite meal is crockpot chicken. i put a whole, organic chicken in the crockpot with different vegies, rapunzel bouillion cubes and water. by dinner they are happy little girls! and it’s super easy for me and our busy days.

    thank you for the giveaway!

  266. favorite dinner for all of us is lemon, Dijon Stroganoff.
    http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/food/recipes/meatballs-stroganoff-534405/;_ylt=AlEq0DqzpjfCsAyd4.9h1MXkgKU5

just add some lemon to it. Great giveaway. Thanks for the chance to win. feel free to check out mine.

  267. My kiddos just love edamame.. Hopefully I spelled that correctly;)

  268. The owl bag is soooooo cute! I love it! Thanks for your giveaway & the opportunity 🙂 Lets see…my kids really love when I fix them chicken katsu strips (basically its just chicken strips breaded w/ Japanese breadcrumbs)…not sure if it would be considered fast but it is pretty easy. I just follow the instructions on the panko packaging. I make my own katsu sauce which is also easy but this would be great w/ any sauce.

    Jodes

  269. LOVE those prizes!

My DD always chooses mac n cheese. Honestly I think she’d eat it every day of the week. I do add a ton of veges (and sometimes tuna or chicken) so it’s semi healthy. I made my own sauce from a white sauce, it’s very easy (Flour, butter & milk & you’re good to add cheese).

  270. awesome giveaway! owl bag *drool*

At our house, the general OH MAN dinner needs to be served in 30 minutes! Is our go to standard, broccoli beef. Seriously. I keep a Boston butt and frozen broccoli in the freezer at all times the kids love it so much! The Secret?
sesame seed oil, brown sugar, and powdered ginger. mmmmm

  271. I really love the bag and the patterns. Thanks for such a generous giveaway!
Something we always loved as a kid was breakfast for dinner. It seemed so daring to have pancakes or eggs for dinner.

  272. Great giveaway. My “kids” are moody teens, but mention Mexican fare and they actually smile! Anything from carnitas in the crock pot, beef tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, or Mexican soup. I think they could eat Mexican every day.

  273. Awesome giveaway!! I love the bags!! My kids favorite is mac and cheese with hot dogs!!! Not the most nutrious but they like it. They also like making bagel pizzas, they get to help make those.

  274. So great!

Hm…the kids I’ve fed always love homemade pizza – even if you just buy the dough or make your own ahead of time, they love picking out their own crazy toppings!

  275. I don’t have any children, but the two boys next door are said to love eating simply flavored lentil dishes. What’s bland to adults can be really satisfying and good to kids.

  276. Cool give-away. My daughter would adore the apron. Hmmm…kid friendly food, eh? We’re quesadilla people around here…

  277. Quesatacos!! Quesadillas with little pieces of streak in them!!!
some fresh tomato, avocado (if they like it), a few drops of lemon! and some fresh lemonade!!! (the lemonade to drink, no to put in the quesadilla!!!!)

    Thanks for the cool giveaway!
    escuishi(at)hotmail(dot)com
    http://hello-my-little-world.blogspot.com/

  278. We love creamy mac and cheese!!!

  279. I love all that you are giving away!! So cute!
Unfortunately, my favorite dinner, well, my little one’s favorite dinner, is mac and cheese. She also loves pizza. I know, I really need to expand her palate!!!

  280. We love taco mush. You brown the ground beef and drain it then throw anything you would normally put on tacos into the pan for a few minutes. My kids LOVE this and it’s easy clean up because it all come out of one pan.

  281. How about pizza? While I’m a sucker for pizza, we can’t always go out, so I make homemade here a lot. You can pick up dough from the grocery store or whip some up from a box mix or any easy recipe. Then I open a can of tomato sauce (not spaghetti sauce, although I guess you could use that in a pinch) and I throw a bunch of stuff from my spice cabinet in there until it tastes good. Lay down some cheese and then each person gets to choose their toppings for their quarter of the pizza–so I get a little math lesson thrown in there too…what could be better, an easy supper of pizza and a little free schooling on the side!
    Thanks for the giveaway!!!
    kelli

  282. Your patterns are great!
My kids love any pasta, and my husband loves cream sauce, so if I’m in a hurry, I use a jar of good meatless sauce (or homemade if I have some in the freezer), warm it up and add a 1/2 brick of cream cheese. Voila! Instant rose sauce!

  283. Thanks for the chance to win. I love the owl bag.

My kids love fried rice. I used to use leftover rice, but now I need to make up a whole pot of rice. Just cook some onion and garlic in oil, add eggs and soy sauce, cook til eggs are done. Then stir in the rice, any leftover meat, and some veggies, and cook til hot.

  284. What a great blog! And a great giveaway!

I’m not much of a cook, but I try to get creative with the simple things. My daughter’s favorite thing that I “cook” is TOAST. LOL. I can give you that recipe! 😉 I’m a big fan of cutting out shapes in simple PB&Js, decorating pizzas into funny faces, etc, to make up for my lack of culinary skills.

  285. My kids are still young, but on eves where we’re running late, I often give them a slice of wheat toast (sometimes homemade) with coconut butter spread on it (this has no sugar, and lots of fiber), a breakfast sausage, and some berries. Simple, quick. You can make coconut butter by taking unsweetened, unsulfured, dried coconut flakes (I get this from the bulk section at whole foods), and put then in your food processor with nothing else and process for about 15 mins. It’s solid at room temp, but melts at about 85 degrees. Yum! Even great on pancakes instead of sugary syrup!

  286. my mom calls these “flying saucers”
i think they were originally supposed to be made with a slice of bologna, but we just slice a hot dog in half longways and open it up (kind of like opening a hotdog bun) lay it flat on a cookie sheet, put a scoop of mashed potatoes on top, and sprinkle some shredded cheese on top of that. pop it in the oven for a few minutes and voila, you’re done!

    vickienae(at)gmail(dot)com

  287. My kids are huge spaghetti eaters, so that is always a good go to meal. There is also this infamous recipe in my family (invented by my Dad and I when I was 7) called “Beans on Top of a Mountain.” The basic concept is ground beef, kidney beans (canned) and anything else you have in the cupboard (onion, corn, tomatoes, etc. work well). Brown the ground beef (and onion if you’ve got it), add the beans (and whatever else you’ve got) to the pan, heat through and serve on top of a “mountain” of rice. I apologize for the title, it must have been my literal phase.

Thanks for the opportunity to win such great patterns! So pretty! I really need an apron pattern for my crazy, messy girl. And the bag is adorable!

  288. My kids love salmon. A few minutes on the barbeque and we have food! I just steam some green beans (which they also love) in the micro and fix some 10 minute cous cous and everyone is full and happy!

  289. Oooo those are all such great items! Lovely!!

My kids love love love what we call Crazy Chicken Wraps… aka chicken fajitas. I cut up loads of veggies in addition to grilled chicken. The kids eat a ton of vegetables that way and I don’t think they even realize how healthy the meal is. 🙂

  290. I jazz up some mac and cheese with salsa, corn and black beans. Or I mix in some left over chili. I also put all sorts of things in quesidillas. As long as my son can dip he is happy.

    Thanks for a great giveaway!

    carlamo (at) ymail (dot) com

  291. I’m not sure where my comment went…

I jazz up mac and cheese with salsa, black beans and corn, or some chili.

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  292. A quick dinner idea… I often jazz up a box of mac and cheese with some salsa, black beans and corn, or chili.

    Thanks for a great giveaway!

    carlamo (at) ymail (dot) com

  293. One word: fondue
Cheese is always a win in our family, add apples, bread, veggies- whatever is on hand, really, and you have a fun easy meal!
    Great recipe here: http://www.simplebites.net/fondue-for-the-whole-family/
    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  294. I love all those patterns!!! Especially the Hazel Hipster. It rocks!!
For a quick breakfast for the kids, I put in a roll of biscuits in the oven. While they cook I make an egg topped with cheese and a piece of canadian bacon. Then make a sandwich for breakfast and make it’s great on the go. I hope you enjoy!

  295. My kids love penne and broccoli. No link…but it is a short recipe let me know and I can email it. Very light garlic/tomato/olive oil sauce, broccoli cooks with the pasta at the end so it is super simple. With lots of parmesan of course.

Love the giveaway – I so need summer/spring bags so the you make one and I make one is perfect.

  296. I love your patterns!
    My kids love hummus!
    Greetings from Chile!
    mmimica(at)maimonides(dot)cl

  297. instant noodles is the best for me tho not the healthiest food around

  298. I don’t have kids, but I think everyone needs to eat more homemade hummus!

  299. I don’t know what it is called, really, but basically it is corn dogs sans the stick! You take a box of Jiffy corn muffin mix and mix according to the instructions. Put that in a small casserole dish and slice hotdogs (we use cheese dogs) into the mix. I usually do about 5 hotdogs. Then bake as you would the cornbread. SUPER yummy, SO easy, and I don’t have kids, but it sure did make my wishes-he-was-five Hubbums happy! LOL!

  300. I simply adore your patterns! The Patsy Ann Apron top is too cute!

Now for the recipe . . . I make mini meatballs using ground round mixed with stove top stuffing as a breadcrumb substitute. Cook until brown with a bit of red wine for flavor, and finish with a can of cream of mushroom soup & a soup can of beef broth. Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes & serve over pasta or noodles.

  301. We make those little pizzas with english muffins. I set all the ingredients out so they can make their own. They can each eat 3 or so but its good fresh stuff.

  302. My kids love lettuce wraps…..even my son who isn’t a big veggie fan. Now for super picky kids…they probably wouldn’t be a fan! My pickier one skips the sauce.
    http://www.underthehighchair.com/2009/09/beef-chronicles-sesame-beef-lettuce.html

  303. Wow, I’m deeply impressed!
Would be so nice to be the lucky one.

    Kind regards from Germany
    Claudia

    frauknopf@gmx.de

My favorite recipe for my 3 kids is “Pfannekuchen”…well it’s typical German similar to pancakes

  304. Hi there
My kiddo is out of the nest – however he LOVED (and still does) our version of open faced hamburger sandwich. Toast bread in oven very very light then remove – mix together lean ground beef hmbgr/turkey, diced onion, bit of mustard and then completely cover the toast. bake until meat is cooked using paper towels to occasional remove grease. Broil a min or so to crisp. cut into strips and consume.
Love your site thanks for the opportunity

  305. Our kids like it when we mix it up and have breakfast for dinner, it is easy to make, and they think it is fun. Thanks for the great giveaway.

  306. A lovely giveaway package! The owl bag is too cute. I always enjoyed cheese and potato pie as a kid. Potatoes mashed with grated cheese and optional fried onions then topped with more grated cheese and grilled (broiled).
    Teresa x

  307. my best kids pleaser is homemade pizza! this is a great giveaway. thanks for sharing
    lezlie21(at)aol(dot)com

  308. Crazy-cute giveaway! Thank you for putting together this creatively awesome prize!
My kid eats anything I put in a bowl, how lucky is that? Otherwise, his favorite is tofu lasagna (gladly forward the recipe if you’re interested). A quick one is BLT sandwiches if you can stand the pork!
Pick me Mr. Random number generator!! Ooohhh, Pick me!!
    ♥♥

  309. Anything Mexican is my go-to… tacos, enchilladas, stack ups, with homemade Mexican rice. I make a whole box of Minute Rice and make Mexican rice and freeze portions so i can pull it out of the freezer and warm up with a meal. Saves some of the time & prep work.

  310. I make a pasta dish….elbow macaroni…pound of hamburger, jar of spaghetti sauce and cheddar cheese. Brown the hamburger…add sauce & 1 jar of water…add pound of noodles cook until tender. Mix in 2 cups of cheese. Yummy, fast & easy! My kids love it!
    amwawillever@aol.com
PS-just found your blog yesterday and I love it!

  311. What a great giveaway! I must come clean and admit that I don’t have children of my own (though I have much younger siblings and a wonderful niece and friends’ kiddos), so perhaps the fact that my cooking is a little different from their own parents’ cooking adds to the novelty, but I’ve never had a child not be thrilled with scrambled eggs. I give them some raw fruit or veggies first and then whip up some fluffy eggs. It takes 5 minutes, and it’s great. My brother used to request “Meggy’s eggs” all the time.

  312. Fab owl bag…and those aprons are gorgeous. What do my kids love best….shepherds pie. Mince and potatoes is just the perfect combo and kids just love it.

  313. I second the Desperation Dinners cookbook. It’s my fave and it’s very hard to screw up any of the recipes (which I am prone to do)

  314. Ugh! I am totally embarrassed to admit that my kids’ very favorite dinner in the whole world is … I almost choke even typing it … mac and cheese (yes, from the blue box!), mixed with … gag! … hot dogs … and …yep, that’s not all … canned corn! I say again, Ugh! They LOVE It! I know, totally gross! But I have to admit, there is one thing I like about it…when we do have it for dinner, my husband cooks! Yippee! More time for me to sew!

My kids also like my homemade pizza, but it’s definitely second to the above mentioned nastiness.

I’m going to read through all these comments to see if I can get some good dinner ideas! How clever of you to use your readers like this!

    MGM

  315. Squeal ~ I LOVE your owl bag!

This may sound strange but my 9 year old loves it!

Falafel (sp?) made from the “Fantastic” box mix on whole wheat pita with slices of sharp cheddar cheese and honey curry mayo (just add honey and curry to the mayo to taste). We like to add tomato, avocado, lettuce, and sprouts to our too! She likes it with rice pilaf on the side.

  316. OOOOOH owl bag!! That’s absolutely fantastic 🙂 Loves it!!

Curried red lentil soup… a bit of red pepper flakes, 1 tbsp cumin seed, 1 tsp fennel seed, 2tbsp ginger, 2 tbsp black mustard seed sauteed in oil til the mustard seeds pop (30secs – 1 minute), then add 1 cup or so of chopped onion and cook another minute or two. Add 2 cups soymilk or milk of your choice and 2 cups water, bring to boil, then add 1 3/4 cup red lentils, 3 chopped carrots, and a can of diced tomatoes. Cook 20 minutes covered, then stir, add a bit of salt, and cook another 15 minutes or so until nice and thick 🙂 YUM!

  317. I don’t have one single recipe that sticks out. But, my favorite cookbook is called Despiration Dinners – every meal in that book you can make in under 20 min and they are delicious.

  318. […] Two Peas in a Pod Designs has the COOLEST owl bag and TWO of her patterns to giveaway! […]

  319. Squeal ~ what a FANTASTIC giveaway!!

This may sound strange but my 9 year old daughter loves this:

falafel (sp?) made from the “Fantastic” box mix on whole whet pita with cheese and curry/honey mayo (just add curry powder and honey to the mayo to taste). We like ours with avocado, lettuce, tomato, and sprouts too. And she likes rice pilaf on the side.

  320. Love the bag you made! Taco night is the most popular kids meal at our house.

  321. Gorgeous giveaway – I have my fingers crossed

ok quick and easy meal – ummm ok – Ginger Ale chicken is always a winner here when i am pumped for time.

    750ml of ginger ale
1 x 60g packet of cream of chicken soup
1 x 60 packet of cream of mushroom soup
half a kilo of chicken bits (thighs work best – no bones etc though drumsticks are just as good

In a large dish, pour ginger ale over soup powders so they all froth up and mix around so all blends together. Then throw the chicken bits in on top and voila !! Throw it in the oven on med high temp till chicken is cooked through and sauce has thickened. Yummo!!!!

  322. any of the pasta recipes in Jamie Oliver’s new cookbook, ‘Jamie’s Food Revolution’. Great cookbook! Oh, and my kids love the hamburgers in that cookbook too, actually ate the whole thing! And everything is non-processed and healthy, and recipes are easy to follow! Love the owl bag, and the patterns look great! Love how the patsy ann apron top is turning out!

  323. My mother’s homemade macaroni and cheese … secret ingredient? Dash of Worcestershire sauce and dash of Coleman’s dry mustard. Doesn’t make it too spicy for kids, but does give it a bit of zest for grownups.

  324. following you now. i love that bag.

  325. favorite meal for kids:: fresh crusted fish bits with mashed taters and carrot sticks.

  326. We love grilled cheese sandwiches (cut into 4 triangles) and tomato soup. It hits always the spot! I also love making sweet potato chips for us to snack on. Yum!

  327. Pasta in all its forms. With tomato sauce or with olive oil and some basil or with simply with a lot of cheese or with white yogurt and a lot of herbs or with vegetables or with any sauce that was bought. I found that bread is also delicious if I buy something to spread on it. Fresh bread is delicious and when I was a kid I couldn’t get enough of it. My mom used to make tomatoes with mozzarella, basil, olive oil, and some salt and we loved it. She also used to serve us all kind of sauces (tomatoe, basil, honey and mustard, nuts, avocado, carot, beef, not all together but each of those cut up or crushed and with some yogurt or cream or cheese.)
And she kept boiled potatoes in the frigde and whenever one of us was hungry she put them in a pan (sliced), added an egg-cream-cheese mixture, some herbs, and some salt and then we were happy.
Of course any toast with nutella would do it as well 🙂

  328. Love the bags. The owl is amazing.
I’m going to be really boring, but homemade pizzas where the kids to their own is always a winner. And they will eat stuff they don’t usually like, when they have put it on them selves. Otherwise they make a salad every night by them self – then they eat greens.

  329. French toast with cinnamon and vanilla mixed in is ALWAYS a favorite of my kids. Just make the french toast, put a little dash of cinnamon and about a quarter tea spoon of vanilla and mix! Thanks for the give a way!

  330. Chicken Parmigiana works here 🙂

  331. I like to make chicken parmigiana always works for the big and little kids ;p

  332. tomato and cheese on toast…. especially with my mousey mouse

    • oooh and just remembered our fav as kids, tomato bacon stuff, basicly tinned tomatos onion and bacon cooked up together and served over pasta

  333. Awesome prize!!

My kids love this sauce: http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/6467/sweet+sour+sauce
I just add some chicken to it and serve it on rice. A success every time! 🙂

  334. Great offer, thanks!

Quickest meal with best reception: roast chicken + couscous + cut up raw veges (cuke, red pepper, baby toms, whatever).

I rub chicken with onion / garlic / paprika powders, stick half a lemon in/under chicken, roast on high for 1 1/4 hours; couscous comes out of a plastic bag into a bowl, I add some salt, then just add boiling water like they tell me to on the packet, and leave it to sit for 5 minutes on the counter. Ta-da! Supper!

Okay – it’s not quick, like ready-in-5-minutes! But it takes about 5 minutes to prep the chicken, and about 2 to make the couscous, maybe 2 more for the veges? Come on, that’s good!

  335. I LOVE that owl bag!!! so cute!

My kids love stirfry with singapore noodles…weird, i know!

Feel free to head over to my giveaways too
    http://www.tonicoward.blogspot.com

  337. My kids is easy, they love everything with chicken, I ususally make chicken soup or fried chicken or chicken nugget.

Thanks for this giveaway I really love to win those patterns and that cute bag.

  338. I love your patterns and designs.
My kids love ramen noodles. We take a pack of the beef flavored and mix it with spaghetti sauce and a bag of meatballs(traditional flavored for sauce an meatballs, other flavors don’t work as well) We eat it with garlic bread and sometimes a salad. Meatball soup. pretty quick and usually no leftovers! 🙂

  339. My kids are super easy when I need a quick dinner. I cut up a plate of fruit, cheese and they have yogurt and toast and they couldn’t be happier!!

    Lisa

  340. Love that Owl Bag!!!!

My favorite thing to make is homemade mac & cheese. I actually don’t go off a recipe…I just melt half a stick of margarine, add some flour to make a paste, add about 3/4 cup of milk, some velveeta, american cheese, & shredded cheddar, & salt & pepper to taste. I don’t measure anything so the milk amount could be off. Pour mixture over cooked noodles, sprinkle w/more cheddar cheese & bake at 350 for about 15 minutes. I really should measure those ingredients next time.
